Guided Meditation under the Total Lunar Eclipse

The IAU Office of Astronomy for Development (OAD) is pleased to host our second online guided meditation session and warmly invite students, astronomy enthusiasts, scientists, and members of the public to a special virtual gathering during the upcoming Total Lunar Eclipse visible from Hawai’i.

In collaboration with Starry Knights, this session will offer a guided online meditation experience held during the eclipse. The event forms part of the OAD’s Astronomy for Mental Health flagship, which harnesses the inspirational power of astronomy to support mental health and well-being.

Through practices such as mindful stargazing and reflective observation, we create space for self-exploration, awe, and renewal. Our approach promotes accessible, cost-effective, and culturally relevant astronomy activities. In line with our commitment to inclusivity, the guided session is designed to be easy to follow and meaningful for everyone – no prior background in science or astronomy is required.
